Eastbourne Open Downland

A stroll over the wonders of Eastbourne’s glorious countryside. In 1929 the Borough Council saved the downland for the nation, ensuring it remained open for the public to enjoy.

The walk explores the extensive areas of downland that are open to the public freely to roam, and the leaders will explain the history of the landscape.

Approximate Distance: 4.5 Miles

Starting Point: The Kiosk Cafe, Foyle Way, Eastbourne, BN20 7XL

Finishing Point: Same as starting point

Walk Grading: Moderate – Up to 5 miles and may have stretches of steep ascent/descent

Maximum number of walkers: 30

On Street parking is available at the starting point

Accessible on the Stagecoach 3/3A Bus service from Gildredge Road in Eastbourne Town Centre

There is a cafe on route

Not suitable for Wheelchair users
