Eastbourne Historic Postbox Walk
22 September, 2019 @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Guided historic walk along Eastbourne Seafront and roads at back from Wilmington Square to Carlton Road, Royal Parade, minimising crossing of major roads. The walk takes a historic journey of Eastbourne’s vintage mail boxes, and is designed to encourage immersion in the hidden side of the post boxes they see everyday while gaining enjoyment from walking and socialising.
Join Tim Jacobs, a postman of 14 years experience, as he takes you through a guided tour of vintage post boxes along Eastbourne’s scenic seafront and discover some of the secrets that lie behind the boxes you pass everyday. Did you know that Eastbourne has one of the highest numbers of vintage boxes in the country? Did you know that post boxes weren’t always red? Accompany me on Sunday 22 September and let me take you on a memorable and entertaining journey, and, if you wish, enjoy the facilities of our hosts, the View Hotel, afterward.
