SDNPA Ranger – Eastbourne Downs Golf Course and Surrounds

Following on from The Eastbourne Downland Group event on the Tenth Hole in the morning this walk will explore the wider landscape near the Golf Course. The National Park Ranger will tell you about the history, landscape and special habitats of the South Downs. The short walk will stop and look at the views frequently and see what wildlife we can find on the Eastbourne Downland.
Route: Gravel tracks or open grassland. Some steep sections including two stiles.
Gradient: A descent and ascent of a valley with moderate inclines on loose gravel and grass.
Surface: Unbound gravel in some parts.
Approximate Distance: 3 Miles
Starting Point: Eastbourne Downs Golf Club Car Park
Finishing Point: Same as starting point
Walk Grading: Moderate – Up to 5 miles and may have stretches of steep ascent/descent
Maximum number of walkers: 18
Free parking for participants at the Golf Club Car Park
Accessible on the Brighton & Hove 12 bus route
There is a cafe on route
Not suitable for Wheelchair users
Not suitable for Pushchairs
Dogs are allowed on leads
Toilet facilities on route
